Askesis Academy is a learning environment that works with one specific phenomenon: the gap between "I know what to do" and the actual action.
This gap is familiar to most people. It doesn't disappear from new knowledge, correct motivation, or yet another planning system. It disappears only through completed cycles — through the direct experience of holding form when resistance appears.
The Academy creates conditions for those cycles.
The methodology is grounded in distinguishing three kinds of knowledge: declarative ("I know that"), procedural ("I know how"), and embodied ("I hold the form under pressure").
Standard education handles the first kind well. The third kind — almost never. The Academy works precisely with the transition from the first to the third.
The basic unit of work is the 7-day disciplinary cycle. One physical action, performed daily, with tracking that moves from describing what happened to an operational decision about the next step.
The crisis point at day 4–5 is a normalised element of the cycle. It is not a failure — it is a diagnostic signal: this is where the character of a particular gap becomes visible.
The tracking system has four levels: L1 — fact description, L2 — interpretation, L3 — change hypothesis, L4 — operational decision. The completion criterion for a cycle is three complete L1→L4 transitions within 7 days.
Askesis Academy was founded by Georgii Bakhtiyarov — a coach and researcher of disciplinary processes. Alongside the Academy, Georgii runs an individual coaching practice through georgii.coach.
Askesis Academy and individual coaching are different formats with different purposes. The Academy works with a group through structured cycles. Coaching is personal work with a specific person's specific gap.
